Future Scholars Christian Academy

I reside in Winter Haven, Florida and have been a resident of this community since 2005. In 2007, God blessed me with a beautiful baby boy. With the Lord on my side, He conditioned my heart to love my child as well as to strive for excellence by furthering my education. In 2008, I was blessed to have graduated from Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School dual enrollment program adjoined with Polk Community College, which is known today as Polk State College, is where I began studying Criminal Justice.

In 2008, I applied to college, an HBCU and that is where I received an immediate acceptance letter to attend the Great Bethune-Cookman University located in Daytona Beach, Florida. The four years of enrollment at Bethune-Cookman University I studied Criminal Justice with a focus in pre-law, praying one day to fulfill my dream of becoming a defense attorney. I served as public relations officer for Pre-Law Society and had the pleasure to pledge and become initiated into Phi Alpha Delta, Law Fraternity, Inc. first law fraternity held at BCU. I was given the opportunity to intern with various successful attorneys in the Daytona Beach area. However, in 2011, spring break approached and I traveled home to spend time with my family, my grandmother had other intentions and asked if I would mind volunteering at the local church's childcare facility in Eagle Lake, Florida, where she happened to be the Director. I responded that I wouldn't mind. After exploring throughout the center for two weeks, I fell tremendously in love with the children and volunteered my time each school break I was given.

As I continued school, in May of 2012, I graduated from the Great Bethune-Cookman University with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Pre-Law. I graduated with a 3.75 GPA and high honors with Magna Cum Laude. My journey went uphill from there.

Though I obtained this degree after four rigorous years, I became more in-depth with my sons education and wanted to help other children in every aspect regarding their education. My teaching career began and I became a full time teacher, from a floater to an assistant director at the church's childcare center. Shortly after, another facility became available to the church and I was selected to become the director of that center, so I took the opportunity and overseen that center for a few months.

In March of 2015, with God's blessing, my husband and I were blessed with our second son. Shortly after returning from maternity leave, the center had gone under new management. Due to new management and my new birth, I decided to give my resignation after 4 years and branch off in another direction. Education is an important factor and all children should have the opportunity to receive God's blessings and experience what the Lord has to offer. So, I thought why not continue to educate our youth, so when they grow through adolescence and then into adulthood, they will continue to teach and educate their children so on and so forth and so I took that idea into perspective.

Since August 2015, my family and I have began a new journey. Future Scholars Christian Academy, Inc. located in the heart of Eagle Lake, Florida is owned and operated by a loving, kind, compassionate and God-fearing Christian family. Through inspiration of Our Father, we are proud to be apart of the educational experience, delivering God's Word through the curriculum of A Beka.

We are now in our 3rd year of educating and our numbers are increasing drastically. In August of 2015, we operated with 15 students. Our enrollment is at a high. As of September 2017, we have obtained a second campus located in the city of Winter Haven, minutes away from downtown. With all that being said, God has truly and continues to rain HIS blessings on our school. We all know that with Christ, ALL things are possible.

So, I welcome you to Future Scholars Christian Academy, Inc. where every student is enriched through a Bible-based, Christ-centered education where they will learn the principles of God, build Christian character and are taught to become followers of Christ Jesus! I am looking forward to a wonderful and prosperous school year and each year thereafter!

With Blessings,
Mrs. Sharell Qurishi, FSCA Principal
